Industry Background
Independent Printing Consultant and Law Society Approved Expert Witness, providing print related and colour management services to client companies, who commission specialist written technical reports for both production and litigation purposes.
Technical Consultant at the British Printing Industries Federations for eighteen years, during which time a wide range of specialist services were provided to member and non member printing companies including public sector and corporate bodies.
Technical sales representative at Kodak-Polychrome Ltd, responsible for developing sales and providing technical support to customers using the extensive range of graphic arts equipment and consumable products.
Partner in a commercial sheet-fed litho printing company including a sales agency supplying reprographic and small offset equipment to the trade
Production worker training adviser, Printing & Publishing Industry Training Board, responsible for developing and writing a range of specialist training modules for all the major machine printing production processes.
Group Training Manager Sir Joseph Causton & Son Ltd, a large commercial printing group employing over 1,000 personnel. Responsibilities included preparing all training programmes, managing the grant levy system, personnel duties and health and safety management.
Technical representative Crabtree Vickers Ltd, (UK based printing press manufacturer) responsible for testing the complete range of sheet-fed offset litho presses prior to sale. Other responsibilities included new equipment commissioning, after sales trouble shooting and also providing on-going technical support to customers.
Previous Assignments
I have appeared as an Expert Witness in many cases involving printing disputes both in the County and the High Courts. In addition independent reports have been prepared for international printing equipment manufacturers involved in technical disputes and also for insurance companies to help them to evaluate claims concerning printing production machinery.
General consultancy work has included the provision of specialist technical help particularly when clients required to achieve financial, productivity and colour standard improvements within the commercial, public sector and corporate printing operations.
Many other projects completed have encompassed work for large international printing groups, major printing equipment suppliers and international management consultants. In addition several leading UK based universities have commissioned a wide range of printing based consultancy projects.
